These studies for cymbals are intended to give this wonderful orchestral instrument a greater role in music colleges. The 10 studies are tailored to the specific demands of the cymbal player in a symphony orchestra and refer largely to characteristic excerpts from the orchestral repertoire. The given tempi are also very specific to each excerpt and should be adhered to exactly, as should the specific note values. i.e. all rests should be damped for the exact note value.
