These etudes are written in the style of 21 predominantly baroque dance forms. They are suitable for every level and offer a musically interesting addition or even an alternative to other exercises for 2 timpani.
Less advanced players can work very well with it if the tempi are adjusted accordingly and the rolls are omitted if necessary.
The large number of notated articulation markings is aimed in particular at the more advanced. For them, the challenge is to bring the etudes to life musically through phrasing, differentiated articulation and sensitive use of dynamics. The choice of instruments and mallets can also contribute to taking into account the respective style of the studies.
